Corluka signs on as transfer madness descends on the U.K.

With a little over four hours to go White Hart Lane, like most clubs in the Premiership tonight, is a hive of activity. Most would have expected transfer deadline day to be hectic but few would have predicted the turn of events over the past ten or so hours.

Firstly, let's round up what definitely has happened at Spurs today. Well firstly, the transfer of Roman Pavlyuchenko was officially confirmed, with the club shelling out £14m for the Russian hit-man's services.

That much we knew already but the spending hadn't stopped there. No sooner had the ink dried on his contract had Roman passed the pen to Vedran Corluka, the Manchester City defender. Or should I say the former Manchester City defender.

The Croatian international, who had been heavily linked with a move to N17 for the past month, finally completed a protracted move to link up with international teammate Luka Modric, and very pleased about it he was too.

"I am delighted to be here because I am coming to a big club with great players, great ambition and also my best friend [Luka Modric] is here so it is a very happy day for me," beamed a clearly delighted Corluka.

So having bolstered both our attacking and defensive options, had Ramos, Comolli and Levy finished for the day. Well if they had, the drama certainly hadn't.

It's likely that even that not even the most optimistic of Manchester City fans would have woken up today imagining they would be chasing the likes of Mario Gomez or David Villa, let alone Dimitar Berbatov. But that is what they seem to be doing.

The thought that City could pip Alex Ferguson to his main summer target is quite frankly, astonishing and, even as a Spurs fan who is stuck in the middle of this farce, I must admit it makes fascinating viewing. Mysterious new owners, bags of cash, foreign stars, it sounds like an episode of Dallas and to be fair, the days events wouldn't be out of place on prime time television.

I won't attempt to explain exactly what's going on because, quite frankly, I haven't got a clue. What to do over the next few hours? Expect the unexpected and hide under your bed.
