Tottenham continue their hectic September schedule with a Carabao Cup fixture against Leyton Orient on Tuesday.

Spurs bounced back from their opening day defeat to Everton with victory over Lokomotiv Plovdiv in a Europa League qualifier before smashing Southampton 5-2 on Sunday, with Son Heung-min and Harry Kane in spectacular form.

Orient have made a positive start to the 2020/21 season, going unbeaten in five matches. They sit eighth in League Two with four points following their 2-2 draw with Mansfield on Saturday.

Team News

Orient head coach Ross Embleton has no injury worries ahead of Tuesday's game. Cyprus Under-21 international Ruel Sotiriou brushed off a knock to start against Mansfield, while former Watford and Reading midfielder Jobi McAnuff will be pushing for a start.

There will be plenty of rotation from Jose Mourinho. He has another Europa League qualifier to contend with on Thursday, so plenty of fringe players who have not yet enjoyed minutes ought to get some this week.

There is sudden uncertainty over the future of Dele Alli, but Mourinho has revealed the England international will play some part against the League Two side. Son will likely not feature, though Mourinho has surprisingly announced Kane could be involved. There could also be a club debut in goal for Joe Hart.

Predicted Lineups

Leyton Orient: Vigouroux; Ling, Coulson, Happe, Brophy; Clay, Cisse, Dayton; Sotiriou, Johnson, Magui.

Tottenham: Hart; Aurier, Alderweireld, Foyth, Cirkin; Sissoko, Fernandes; Lamela, Alli, Sessegnon; Bergwijn.

Recent Form

Orient are unbeaten so far this season. A Carabao Cup victory at Forest Green opened up their campaign, before wins against Brighton in the Johnstone Paint Trophy, Oldham in League Two and Plymouth in the Carabao Cup again.

A poor 1-0 loss to Everton from Tottenham was followed up by a nervy 2-1 victory over Lokomotiv Plovdiv, in which the visitors needed two red cards and a penalty to squeeze through. Spurs were again unconvincing against Southampton, but a supremely clinical four-goal display from Son saw them leave the south coast as 5-2 victors.

Here are the last five results for each side.

Leyton Orient

Leyton Orient 2-2 Mansfield (19/9)
Leyton Orient 3-2 Plymouth (15/9)
Oldham 0-1 Leyton Orient (12/9)
Leyton Orient 3-2 Brighton Academy (8/9)
Forest Green 1-2 Leyton Orient (5/9)

Tottenham

Southampton 2-5 Tottenham (20/9)
Lokomotiv Plovdiv 1-2 Tottenham (17/9)
Tottenham 0-1 Everton (13/9)
Crystal Palace 1-1 Tottenham (26/7)
Tottenham 3-0 Leicester (19/7)

Prediction

This isn't going to be a particularly pretty game. Orient are yet to lose this season and will look to frustrate Tottenham throughout the night. Given the issues Spurs had in their first two games, it would hardly be surprising to see them struggle to create chances.

However, even with an expected rotated starting XI, the visitors should have enough to secure passage through to the next round, where they could face Chelsea.

Prediction: Leyton Orient 1-2 Tottenham
