Poyet blasts Blues over summer exit

Poyet joined former Chelsea boss Glenn Hoddle at Spurs in the summer for £1.5million, and has spoken about his move across London for the first time.
The former Uruguayan international wanted to finish his career at The Bridge after joining The Blues on a free transfer from Real Zaragoza in 1997, but Claudio Ranieri's men were stalling on a new deal and the 33-year-old made the move to White Hart Lane.
"I wanted to stay and finish my career at Stamford Bridge but there was only a year left on my contract and they were not willing to extend it," Poyet told The Mirror.
"I decided that they didn't really want me. What you don't do is lie to people. Why couldn't they just simply say: 'We want to make some changes and put new players in the team so need others to leave', instead of just trying to be nice."
