Alan Mullery, who scored in the second leg of the 1972 UEFA Cup Final against Wolves to help secure a 3-2 aggregate win, said: “We would turn up at 4pm and the High Street was full of people already, when we walked out there were 50-60,000 people inside the stadium. The atmosphere was absolutely amazing.”

3,000 Tottenham fans travelled out to Prague to support the team in the first leg which Spurs won 1-0.

Boss Martin Jol said: “Everyone told us it was a big celebration in the city centre in Prague and then when we got to the stadium and we saw all the (3,000) fans, it was unbelievable. They made it a special atmosphere and we were proud of them. Their behaviour was excellent.”

Slavia turned Viktoria Plzen over 4-0 away from home last weekend, Pavel Fort scored a hat-trick.

Assistant coach Chris Hughton said: “Slavia changed their formation (against Viktoria Plzen) to a 4-5-1 and then going into a 4-3-3, they showed enough in the second half in Prague to suggest that they can be dangerous.”

Meanwhile, Spurs supporters have been made aware that under the rules of the UEFA Cup, beer will not be available in the public concourses at White Hart Lane tomorrow night. The big screen will also not be able to show live coverage of the match. Highlights will instead be shown at half time and full time as normal.

And if you hadn't been warned already, you have now.
