Who Knows: Paul Ince Tips Sol Campbell for a Future Managerial Role at White Hart Lane

Ex-England midfielder Paul Ince has touted Tottenham's former defender Sol Campbell as a future manager of the North London club.

Campbell, who gained infamy at White Hart Lane for his controversial switch from Spurs to their biggest rivals Arsenal, has been searching for a job in management for some time with a number of rejections.

However, after a few weeks of working with England's Under-21 side, the commanding defender has been appointed as manager of the Football League's bottom club Macclesfield Town.

After the news of his appointment was announced, Ince stated his delight for Campbell and talked up his future as a manager.

"The lads will be buzzing once they see Sol there," he told Sky Sports via HITC.

"He has got a good football brain, who knows in years to come he might be managing Tottenham."

It's an odd statement to make considering Campbell is currently unproven as a manager, and the obvious elephant in the room that his relationship with Tottenham fans was ruined years ago with that move to Arsenal.

It is highly unlikely he will be on the bench at White Hart Lane any time soon, but it is big step for Campbell earning his first job as a manager.

He will have his work cut out to save Macclesfield from relegation out of the Football League this season, but with some success, he could work his way up the league ladder and one day earn a job at a Premier League club.

If he is as successful as a manager as he was as a player then he will go a long way in the game, but a move to Spurs may not be on the agenda for former Arsenal man Campbell, despite what Ince feels.
