The goods news is that our 1^st choice left back Erik Edman should be fit in time for the Man City match, so presumably Atouba will revert to his favoured wing back role although he has been charged with violent conduct by the FA.

If Atouba does get banned for any of the next three games, we are going to have to rely on Keane or Bunjevcevic, neither of which is exactly ideal.
