A light from the Lane

I was debating whether or not to write this article with Muamba still fighting for his life, but I feel this sort of thing helps.

News has today been released that Muamba is showing signs of recovery, albeit small, but he is starting to move his arms and legs, whilst is no longer on medication to assist his heart.

What I want to concentrate on though is the fans on Saturday. Never before have I seen something like this happen on live TV, it was disturbing, but some light was shown for football.

Following all the bad press that English fans have managed to build up with the help of the media the publics view must surely be changed. The fans were quite truly brilliant. All of the footballers have said its not about your team, its not about football and they are right, the passion is once again shown in our fans for the right reasons.

I had noticed that many of the stewards were trying to calm the crowd, but it was no shouts of boo's or misplaced anger it was support for a fallen man.

The fans at the lane had done us proud with cheers of Muamba echoing through the stands. The support given has been nothing short of a sure sign that when it is needed the fans really are there for the players.

I hope that this sort of support is recognised by the players, so they know that no matter what is said and done at the end of the day we support our players!

On a separate note I am surprised that the FA has not called off the Stoke game as that must of had a truly large effect on the lads of both sides, but if our guys have agreed I hope there is no underlying affect.

Either way I once again wish to pass on my support for Fab, his family and just as important the staff around him.

Come On You Spurs!
