Ade at it again

Last updated : 13 May 2013 By Hog

Against Chelsea whether you like it or not it was the Adebayor show, although I quieter game against Stoke he popped up again to save the day.

In all fairness Ade's goals to games in Europe is not bad at 3 in 8 its the 5 in 17 in the EPL that has most fans with a twist in their knickers!

I made an interesting comment via Twitter whilst we were playing Chelsea (in that Ade is our Shaun Goater). Interestingly enough I had a few comments (all good for a change). Whilst Ade has not been prolific in front of goal this season he has really begun to score the "important" goals and this is why I feel that Ade should be getting the same praises (especially if he continues into our final game against Sunderland) as he did last season. I would rather Ade score 10 goals a season and they be 3 point winning strikers, than 20 goals that were chipped in when we were winning any way.

At Spurs over Ade's career his goals to game ratio is at .377, which seems to be pretty standard with many strikers, so as a whole is it really that bad?

There are many players that we loved in a Spurs shirt that had a similar goals to games ratio.

I think rather than try and resell Ade to you I should really just allow him to continue to score and win us games.

Many fans that email me are surprised to my "favouritism" with Ade or confidence in the player. All I can say is that Ade is one that we know has quailty, he has proven himself at many levels and its clicking again this season after the real support from AVB. Yes now that AVB has publically supported Ade and starting him, Ade's performance's have stepped up. Forget the links to Monaco etc he isn't playing for a contract (as Monaco would snap him up for what we need to recoup). He is now supported by his manager and repaying the faith and doing what a striker does best.... scoring.

With a bit of luck tomorrow night we could all be thanking Ade as AVB has publically done after the Stoke game.
