Adebayor is not delaying our spending!

Adebayor will not be netting us £10-£15million. So how is it that keeping him in the squad is stopping us from investing? Its not a popular thing to say, but one world class striker, Ade and Defoe will certainly do (but I don’t want that).

Anyone with half a brain cell can see that this is not the case at all (in our striker search).

Ok as a club you cannot afford to bench a player that is on £100k a week and under perform. However it happens in football. The club must offload him or work around it.

Ade is in no rush to leave, but we all know that it's a golden handshake that he wants to see him on his way. Ok it's not ideal, but COME ON.

If we sign two of our 3 striker targets that’s an absolute minimum of £30mill on a Pound Land discount day, so how is £5-6million going to hinder our transfer dealings?

We have plenty of “deadwood” that needs to go, but you cannot miss every decent target until we sell them, to then go out and spend (as there will be no one left)!

I do not think for one second anyone in the club is stupid, but stubborn, oh boy is that is the issue.

The top guys are too stubborn to splash the cash when it's absolutely necessary (this is why we have Paulinho and not Gomez). Again Paulinho is a great signing, but not imperative to our new season. Our midfield last year was great (you have to include Bale in this) so why are we splashing so much there?

So it must point to one thing, we have more money than we are letting on. If we can spend £17million on a midfielder that is not imperative to the team's impending season, than we can afford a large outlay up front.

Although I am as impatient as a child in a toyshop we cannot delay. All the best one's are gone (near enough) and we cannot afford another last minute scramble.

So with obvious money in the bank the sale of players is not imperative, but will help settle the books. With all the players we need in, it puts us in a better position to sit and make sure we get the right price (for who has to go). The world cup is around the corner and not one player can afford to sit on the bench for fear of losing their place.
