Adebayor Transfer

Last updated : 07 January 2013 By Hog

Firstly AVB has stated that he is happy with his striker force. He has made it clear that he is happy with both of them. Yes Adebayor may have only scored 3 goals, but he is a player that brings more to the game than just goals. He’s no bloody Heskey!

Did anyone stop to realise that in 8 Premier starts Ade has managed 2 goals (ok that’s not great but its not that bad)? Torres has made 20 starts and only has 7 goals, but Chelsea fans are being won over by him. In 3 European starts he has managed 1 goal. Now in all fairness that is still a reasonable return compared to some strikers.

At a mere £5million I still see Adebayor as a steal (not as good as Michu of goals at the moment), but he is still a great player. Last season he notched 18 goals and 12 assists in 37 appearences (statistically that is only 7 games that he showed a blank). This season though he has had to change his style of play and has been forced to come deeper. AVB has favoured Defoe and this has been Defoe's best start to a Premiership season. Some flourish some take time and others fail. Ade is taking time to adjust, but I see that he is improving.

If you are watching the game on the TV or on MOTD it is unlikely that you will see that Ade is working hard. tracking back and defending as well as getting forward.

It would not surprise me to know that there is interest in Ade, but Juventus are not interested at the moment. They may think highly of him, but there is no solid interest there at the moment and none of the articles say this anyway (its pure speculation, due to lack of stories).

Should Ade go to the African Cup we will definitely miss him and should he be sold the new employer will get a bargain. I rate the guy highly (and JD just as high so), what is everyone’s problem? Yes its frustrating not to see Ade bang in the goals like last term, but he spent all of pre-season frozen out at City, then after his move was made permanent he was injured and kept out of the side. I would expect that Ade will come on strong or will begin to show his worth at the African cup and continue his form back here for Spurs, if he doesn’t watch out Premier league Ade is coming back.

Whether Ade is an ex-gooner I couldn't care a less, he was one of our best players last season and I ask you all to look back at that and realise what he did. Someone with that class will always shine.

So Ade is not on Juve's list yet and if he does get on there Levy must keep Ade at all costs (although £12million plus would be good business haha).
