Andre and Spurs are All In!

Andre admits we can’t afford to ‘repeat the mistakes of the first leg’ but like his players, remains confident we can take our away form of the Premier League – already nine wins on the road this term – into the Europa League and make it into the last four.

The players are positive and ready for a game that will need to be very different to their first leg (of which we drew 2-2). AVB is focused on not making the same mistakes of the first leg, but still remains confident in the players positive approach leading up the game. With 9 away wins in the Europa league this term another one will have us in the last 4.

Here's what AVB had to say;

“We couldn’t win at home but in European games at this level, at such an advanced stage of the competition, anything can happen.

“It was more through our mistakes that FC Basel were able to take the lead, we don’t normally concede goals like that at home. We did ever so well to get back into the game.

“We are confident but we have to be aware of Basel’s strengths. They will play with great motivation after the first leg. It will be a hard game.

“The squad has proved a lot this season and the players will give everything to try and get us into the semi-final.

“We are at a stage in the competition where we’re only small steps away from the final and this is an inspiration for everyone.”
