AVB is in, its not the beginning of the end

Finally Levy has confirmed what I have been dreading! AVB is now the manager.

. So I will firstly get something out of the way. If AVB does not achieve champions league status come the end of the season Levy must step down. If he does not show huge financial support to AVB it will prove my articles that he is incapable of running a club pushing for greatness. Greatness comes at an expense not on a shoestring. All teams that have won the EPL have invested heavily on a regular basis. So long story short we need 3 strikers, 3 defenders (centre back, cover for Benni and cover for Kyle if Naughton goes on loan), a keeper (in fact potentially we will need 2 as Cudicini is not getting any younger) and potentially several midfielders. So all in all that is going to cost us around £100million (10 players potentially need there). In all fairness I don't know where that money will come from, but it is needed. Oh hang on we didn't spend any of the money for the sale of Pav and we have sold Niko, Charlie and looks like Gio has left so maybe now we only need £85million.

Right moaning aside now AVB had a great record behind him and although I am against his appointment I think everyone deserves a second chance. If AVB can get back to the heights of his ONE season at Porto then it will be a great appointment. The things that I do like about AVB are what he did achieve in such a short timescale. The treble for Porto is no easy thing (especially taking a European cup into account). The questions raised are likely linked with his short time in management as well as the fact he had never played professional football. That aside if Jose and Bobby thought so highly of him then there is definitely something there.

IF we can now bring in those players we are desperate for CB, GK, ATT (x2) then we have a chance, but that is based on not losing any of our current players.

Like Hoddle has said you have to now get behind your manager and whether we agree with the appointment or not we should not cause further issues and disruption. We must give him our support and he will certainly need it. So to all you fans out there, forget Levy and whether he is right or wrong, forget who the manager is in charge (if you disagree with his appointment), get behind your team, show the players you will support the club and hope they show the same commitment as you and Bale.

There are plenty of good points to cloud the irresponsible past few weeks from levy, New Training Ground, New Stadium (at some point), New staff and New Players. This should be enough to get us all excited again and move on to better things.

Come on you Spurs!
