AVB is not to be compared to Jose

Last updated : 30 September 2013 By Hoggg

I believe that AVB is his own man and although he worked under JM it does not mean that he should be tarnished with the "special one" brush.

The media love to make the comparison and force it down everyones throat.

However it is unfair in my opinion AVB did not learn everything from JM and one main thing (luckily) is Jose's barrage of excuses and reasons things did not go his way.

No surprise then to hear after a 1-1 draw that the only reason that we managed 1 point (forget that we could have easily have 3 points if we put away our first half chances) is because of an incident in another game!

Albeit it Jan may be slightly lucky to have not been sent off against Cardiff (meaning being banned for the Chelsea game), the teams were who they were but still Jose blames a "drop" of two points on Jan playing? Oh did JM ignore that Ivanovic should have been sent off for his pull on Paulinho an a penalty awarded? No Jose! The game ended as a draw and both teams had great domination in either half so deal with it! Or should we blame a drop of two points on the post that kept Paulinho’s shot out. I wish AVB had of used that comment sarcastically to show how stupid someone can look with such lame excuses! Oh I forget plus by the letter of the law Torres raised his hand to Jan's face so he should have been off earlier.

Thinking back over this I do not remember AVB blaming any losses or draws on who the team had put out and they should not have been allowed to. If that was the case Terry played and scored, however he should not have played as he should have had a lengthy ban for his racist behaviour! I'm sorry but with his experience he knew who was playing and quite simply Chelsea did not do enough to win the game and certainly rode their luck at times.

It is for these reasons why I will not be making a direct comparison between the two, in fact I have more respect to BOTH of them not to do this. JM has won far more than AVB (but is older and was given an open check book at every team), but there are numerous traits that lucky AVB does not have, which are JM’s worst traits!

The only comparisons to make is that both have managed Chelsea and Porto.

Most importantly to mention is that I would not swap our manager for anyone especially not JM. AVB fits, he has not managed teams that have unlimited funds, so no matter what anyone says I feel AVB has done better as the funds have not always been there to get him out of trouble!

Don’t listen to it Andre, the Tottenham faithful know who they want and its not someone that focuses on excuses, its someone that focuses on tactics and improvement!

COYS!!!!!
