Ok he is not our player any more and left with a dark cloud over him (for some fans), but I still cannot forget what he did for us as a club (so I have to stick up for him).
It rubs me up the wrong way to hear and see the smear campaign going against our former player.
Marca (the tapping up chief for Madrid) have already published damning reports against Bale and stating that he is the worst acquisition of the club. I feel that this is unjustified and completely unfair.
Tottenham did not want to let the player go and that was made abundantly clear to Madrid, but as always they have to have it their way. A fee was agreed and Madrid paid it. Was he worth it? Maybe and only time can tell, but it is whether the children that make up their board and fan base will allow him the time to do this. This will show if he is worth the fee.
After speaking with a new contact (having played professional football) he stated this;
"Bale needs to have time to recover and with what the reports suggest it will take 4 clear months."
This includes returning to match fitness! The player had no pre-season and it is of no surprise that he is suffering the consequences now.
As expected though the children within and surrounding Madrid have immediately jumped on his back and the hate mob begins to grow.
I had warned that this would happen, but I am shocked at just how quickly this has come about. The chap is injured for god’s sake, he can't help that! If Madrid had of pulled their finger out they could of had him before pre-season had finished and built his fitness level up. If anyone is to blame for his condition it is Madrid.
So Marca and the rest of the children can keep their uneducated thoughts to themselves as far as I am concerned. I really hope that Bale gets fit quickly and sticks it to all them. If not ….. come back Gareth we still love you!
