Bale Saga: My Decision

Last updated : 28 August 2013 By Hoggg

As time has gone on us Spurs fans have been left to endure a ridiculous circus of transfer news that just never seems to go away. But due to the Bale saga all of our other transfers are having an adverse effect on our fans. Lamela has been signing tomorrow and medical tomorrow for the past week! We are now panicking as we heard loads leading up to Willian, but nothing on Lamela. However as I have said in a previous article I would rather not hear about it and then sign him, than panic after the press state he is on his way, having a medical etc.

Out of all of the news coming out it seems that most of what is available is the same old recycled rubbish. Bale leaving, Bale deal agreed, Bale deal on hold and Bale deal may not go through before the summer window closes.

Firstly we must address that Bale has said that he was allowed to say his goodbye's to the players before leaving for his trip to Spain, however where was the goodbye to the fans? Bale has said that he wants the fans to understand his position and that he will hold them high in his heart, but how can you do that if you ignore those fans? Poor agent advice there again.

Now as it stands we have the following to look at in our squad Soldado, Paulinho, Chadli and Capoue have all signed. So without causing too many arguements surely we are now in a position to cancel the Bale transfer until next season? Bale I think would not like but accept a move next season, he would play for the fans and give them a great farewell season. I love the idea that if we are selling Bale we will bring in the likes of Eriksen, Chiriches and Lamela, but it is not what I honestly want.

As a club we need to follow the example set by Utd and Liverpool. Suarez is still at the club, as is Rooney, but yet we sell our star. Why? Do we need the money? No according to AVB. Liverpool are not as big a club as they used to be (sorry Liverpool fans, but all honest one's admitt it), but yet they have managed to hold onto their star. I mean we could be in worse position, we could have signed no one and have the Bale saga hanging over our head. It is not difficult until the agents come in!

Maybe what we should look at is the "agreement" with Madrid. AVB stated there is one in place so I think that could be something to do with it. A deal this size may have been worked on for months, as the Ronaldo one took (which took about 12 months to conclude).

My honest opinion though is to scrap the transfer and go for the league. Bring in Lamela and Chiriches still and our team would be the most formidable team in the league (however time would be needed to gel). This would allow Lamela time to settle before Bale leaves. I realise we would miss out on Eriksen, but new players come up each year so it may not be a bad thing.

Could anyone truly disagree that keeping Bale would be the best thing with all our transfers in? Of course not. However it is now more likely a pipe dream than ever before with his behaviour and reports coming out.
