It is ceratainly good news when any starting 11 regular comes back off the treatment table, however it is not a must right now.
BAE is certainly a player that I and other avid fans like and when he first went onto the treatment table it was a disaster. However Jan Vertonghen has filled this gap very well and helps us fans to understand that there are better players out there.
Vertonghen has shown just how great a player we have bought and since filling in at left back I feel that we have not missed Benni.
Although would we be better with Benni at LB Vertonghen & Caulker at CB and Walker at RB? I am not sure, but I have always thought that we should have bought another LB to cover Benni. Importantly Jan has made it clear he does not wish to make the LB slot his own, he prefers it back in the centre.
Without going into it too deeply its good to have Benni back (it gives that little bit more of depth) and we just need Scotty back now (however its the same arguement there too)!
What are your thoughts though? Is Benni better at LB than Vertonghen? Or is it we are better off with Benni at LB and Vertonghen at CB than our current formation? Let me know your thoughts as I think this is a great talking point.
