Benteke off the market

Last updated : 19 July 2013 By Hog

As I had thought I did not see Benteke coming to Spurs (or at least not yet).

Villa are highly reluctant to allow their savior to leave and they have acted fast (upon his return) to tie him up.

So another striker down, but I am not concerned yet.

Although Benteke is not quite the real deal (yet) I hear that there is a sizable release clause in excess of £20million (whether that’s true I don’t know just yet), which is certainly enough to put any suitors off after just one season in the premier league.

If he has another successful season I expect his release clause to be met swiftly (maybe even as soon as January).

As far as I am concerned at £15million it was worth it, but what Villa wanted (and rightly so) it’s not a risk worth taking just yet.

So who are we left with? It looks like for the time being only Soldado, but other targets are in the mix (yet to come out).

COYS!!!
