Christian Benteke (or Bentekkers as he's suitably been named) has taken his change of league in his stride. Having a previous record with GENK of scoring every other game, he has continued this form into the EPL with 14 in 28. The Belgium forward has been value for money at £7million, any club would willing pay that to stay up (which is essentially what Benteke has achieved). His value though is likely to at least double come the end of the season (so £14mill now I expect to see £16mill or so).
Then we have the disruptive and sulky Argentinean Pablo Osvaldo. I am guessing you can see which way I am leaning on this! Pablo's goal scoring record is similar to that of Benteke. He was born in Italy so was able to play for either Italy or Argentina and made a wise choice in choosing Italy. He has since received 8 caps (where as for Argentina he was unlikely to get a look in). If we are to believe reports he is available at a cut price of £7million.
Firstly Benteke will cost more, but we know he can score in the league, however buying Osvaldo we would see an unpredictable striker. If fans are moaning at Ade think of a striker similar potential, similar mentality, but with the added bonus of South American/ Italian blood. We all know where this is going to go. Look at Tevez one of the game’s biggest sulkers and biggest disruptions (almost single handily knocked the wheel off of Man City's eventual Championship!
There is a time to look at cut deals and hopefully being in a Champions League position I think we have time on our hands to assess properly what is out there. If you want me to answer which player I would have Bentekkers wins it on the name alone for me, its just a bonus that he is scoring and would continue his form (whilst fitting in with the already solid Belgium contingent to our team).
