Damiao deal now reality

What this means to Spurs is another question, but a source who is close to the Brazilian League has said that he feels that a deal is now more likely than ever.

Neymar was happy to stay in Brazil (until the World Cup at least), but due to the ownership issues he was promptly sold off.

The new analogy is this Pizza ownership where several different owners have a slice of the player. This as we all know is for investment purposes. As the players contract comes to an end the investors want to realise their investment and make a return. So the investors force through a sale at a healthy return.

Neymar was sold for this reason and it is expected that Damiao will also be sold for this very reason.

Nilmar currently playing in Qatar has been named as the replacement and a deal is expected to be tied up very quickly. Once this has gone through Damiao will then be sold off to the highest bidder.

Napoli have pulled out of the race as Benitez has made Torres his number 1 target, leaving only Tottenham (at present) in the frame.

Also there is still an understanding between Tottenham and Inter so there are further thoughts that Damiao is likely to head to Spurs to continue the relationship between the two clubs.

A price is said to be around £18million, which we are all very aware Levy would happily pay (compared to the mooted £20million+ for Soldado).

If this deal comes through it will be a great signing for Spurs, but they have to move a lot faster as Luigi (Inter President) has stated that there has been no contact (reading between the lines nothing of interest for them).

Finally it is said that Inter are not in their stadium at present due to an upgrade (set for the World Cup), so a sale of Damiao would bring in much needed funds.

I know we all want to see this deal come off, but as it stands it’s still no further forward.
