Daws & Holtby on tonight's game

Last updated : 11 April 2013 By Hog

Lucky Lewis Holtby and Michael Dawson are looking forward to tonight’s game in the most important of all our Europa League games this season.

A win tonight and we are through to the semi’s and a loss and we are over and out.

Daws believes that a clean sheet is the key to the game saying:

"It’s a game we’ve got to win and we believe we can do that anywhere," said Michael.

"Obviously, the away goals have made a difference for them but the basics are that we’ve got to go and win the match. We have to concentrate on that.

"The away leg against Inter Milan was disappointing but if we can get back to keeping a clean sheet, that’s the start and would be massive for us, and then we believe we can score goals anywhere.

"We’ve had some tough games in the Europa League but we’ve proved we can score. Lyon away, for example, when Mousa scored in the last minute. Even against Inter, Ade managed to get the vital goal. It’s amazing how it can change in these games."

Holtby up the other end of the field is positive that we have what it takes to progress into the next stage. Here’s what he had to say:

"They had a period between 20 and 35 minutes that was difficult for us, but we did well to come back for 2-2," said Lewis.

"The positive is that we recovered after going 2-0 down, but it wasn’t up to our standards.

"We wanted to win the game and go into the second leg with a comfortable lead but we’ve now got a tough game in Basel.

"We all believe we have the quality and ability to get the win. The dream is still there.

"It’s not over. There is still a game to play, we’re good away from home, we know we can produce something, the support will be there for us and we have to concentrate and get the win."

So there you have it, the players share my belief and I for one really think that they will not let us down tonight. They have a man to look to (if Ade remains in the form from Sunday) and the genuis of Dembele as the heart of the engine, just need to remain focused in defence and the rest will follow.
