Daws thoughts on Wigan

I feel that we are going to see a lot of comments before and after each game from the players and staff. One of the first to comment is our Captain Daw's.

“We have to be ready,” said the skipper and central defender as we put in the final preparations for Saturday’s trip to the DW Stadium.

As Michael pointed out, both teams need the points for different reasons in the Premier League.

We’re targeting a win as we push for a place in the top four - if we do that at Wigan, we’ll move up to third with Arsenal and Chelsea both playing on Sunday.

“We’re in a good run of form, had a good win against City but that’s forgotten now and we have to go to Wigan and try to win another football match,” said Michael after training on Thursday.

“Wigan are fighting for their lives but they are a good team, they are in the final of the FA Cup and they will want to pick up points just as much as we do, for different reasons.

“It’s about us though, about what we do and as long as we’re on top of our game, we’ll look to come away with the three points.

“We’ve five huge games to go, starting at Wigan. It’s all about trying to get into that top four.”
