Defoe set for Stoke

However he has had linked up well for Portsmouth and Spurs with Peter Crouch and its seems like he may be odds on to make it a hat trick at Stoke.

On Defoe's second stint at the Lane he has managed a strike rate of .420. It's certainly not the best but JD has been fantastic overall.

At the age of 30 (31 in October) now could be a great time to trade him in, right? in my opinion no. If you ask me JD certainly is our Super Sub and should remain. 15 goals this season and 17 last why would we cash in on a player that loves the club and its fans. With the World Cup around the corner it is set to be Defoe's best season if you ask me.

I cannot see anyone else fitting the backup roll better with big names such as Damiao, Soldado and Villa linked.

COYS!!!
