Derby Delight

Well me for one! I still think that 3-1 would have shown a fairer result and sorry Arsenal fans, but it’s the truth (we all know that Bale should have put in the sitter). And yes I will gloat about and stop if we fall behind just like you have done every season at every opportunity!

The game showed us many things, but I want to concentrate on the positives mainly, so let’s get a little moan out of the way.

Ade failed to mark his man in the box and allowed a situation to lead to Bale scoring for the opponents!

Vertonghen was on form again yesterday (greatly needed too) and I hear the commentators even said the one man to rival for MOTM was Dawson. So it was a result for the CB's. Walker looked in control at right back and Benni was assuring me on the left, whilst Lloris again should have had a clean sheet (he was never really worked).

Bale is again showing that he is the most consistent scorer in 2013 and was not prepared to let that stop against our biggest rival (another double was on the cards). Lennon has again showed his huge improvement under AVB and that he does have the capabilities to be consistent at this level. Demble and Parker linked up well as they have since Sandro's injury, but Siggy looked the best I have seen him. His tireless work rate was almost enough for a MOTM for me (shame he completely lost his composure with near enough an open goal). Defoe made his come back from injury and he certainly looks like he has recovered! Which is good seems as Ade injured himself in the most notable act in his performance.

There was not a great deal to moan about! In all well thought tactics and planning from AVB!

This is the first year when I don't feel like its 90 minutes with 9 men and you see the board for injury time say 10 minutes! I feel positive; the lads are showing a positive approach and an abundance of confidence. What else can I say? It’s a big positive and a win against Liverpool will be enough to convince me we can challenge for 2nd (but will get 3rd).

Keep up the great work lads and we are only going to get stronger with the return of Dempsey and Kaboul (with Ade/ Dembele having minor issues and Sandro out for the season).

AVB has evolved the team from raw talent (Redknapp) to composed talent and that is what we needed.

A final mention on our competition in conjunction with ICONS.com. The Gareth Bale shirt comp is going down a screamer (much like yesterday’s result). We have had hundreds of entrances and the competition will be running until 29th March so make sure that if you haven't entered that you do below;
