Even Defoe calls for new STRIKERS!

So far this closed season Tottenham have missed out on a glut of talent. They range from the big names such as Gomez to the in form players such as Bony. It is poor if you ask me that we have missed out on such players, especially when these clubs are not as good as us (no offense meant toward any Fiorentina or Swan's fans).

Three of our supposed targets are still yet to move club, however two of them are likely to be too expensive and one seems destined to replaced Cavani.

Looking at them Benteke is likely to be priced too high for us to deal (at £15million I would feel comfortable) and Soldado is available but only go if his release clause is met (plus he is happy in Spain). Taking this into account I would not be surprised to see further links with Damiao come up. His agent has already resorted to stating that Southampton want him, to force the Napoli move through or get other suitors coming forward. As you would expect this has failed.

One surprise is that we only had a brief and small link to Burak Yilmaz of Gala. 60 goals in 132 appearances may seem ok over the past 3 seasons, but it is the 32 goals in 39 this season that has everyone sitting up and paying attention. At the age of 27 he is a decent age and coming into his peak, but Galatasaray have surprisingly said that they would sell (if their wanted fee is met). He is now playing regularly for Turkey scoring 8 in his last 20 games, so maybe he is a decent target. The stumbling block I feel is that Gala are likely to want closer to £20mill for a striker that joined a year ago tomorrow.

Ok this is dreaming, but if no one has actually come in for Lewandowski, why haven't we tried?

I hope that AVB and Baldini have some great targets in talks at the moment we are in a worse position than last year (especially with Adebayor likely to leave). We cannot leave this position to the last minute to fill again can we? I can’t see drafting in youngsters again and then loaning them out helping us again this year.
