FA Cup Burnley 1-1 Spurs

Last updated : 05 January 2015 By Hoggg

Following on from our 5-3 win against Chelsea Spurs fan's were flying high and expected a result against Burnley, however were again left feeling massively underwhelmed.

The tie finished 1-1, but there was not much to talk about.

Mopo is a manager that I rate and I believe given the chance will do great things at Spurs (with levy's backing, not his current lazy stance of sitting on his hands). But again I am confused with the formation? Soldado does not play well without a partner in the English league (watch his play when he was first paired with Ade, then when he and Kane play a full game). It was a waste of time and Soldado was again made to look like a player from the lower depths of the Spanish leagues. I realise that it may seem like I rate Soldado too high, but its more that I expect him to have the proper support from his team and manager.

The positives to take are that Spurs are now unbeaten in 7 and Chadli scores his ninth goal of the season!

We may have had most of the possession (52%) but I think the below stats sum it up; 6 Shots, 3 on target and 4 corners. It was not an end to end game but rather a stand offish encounter. Just under 10,000 fans attended which I believe given the performance was too high.

I'm not sure if I want us to continue in the cup if we continue to play so poorly overall, I would prefer that we press hard in the league.

Sorry if you feel the match report is slim pickings, but I kid you not there really are not many talking points for this game.
