My personal and abrupt response is simply no.
He is a good player and best used as an impact player, but is he any different to Defoe or Soldado? Again no.
Last season the player had a .50 goals to games ratio and although this may seem good, we do not need another poacher in the ranks we need a target man if anything. Soldado does all of his work in the box, Defoe mainly in the box, but they do things better by going into the box and latching onto a low cross. So how would Javier add a new dimension? He simply wouldn't. It’s unnecessary.
If you are to add something new to the team you needed someone like Lukaku a big target man with some pace and skill.
The bookmakers have us as favorites should he wish to leave Utd, but I just don't see it. A waste of money and likely a bigger waste of time negotiating.
Not that I am recommending it, but giving Ade a kick up the backside and stating you'll withhold his wages would get some decent performances out of the Togo international (and he would bring a new dimension), but it seems that things are too far gone with the guy. It just highlights again what we need though.
For me even if it's in all the newspaper, forget it I don't see it happening.
