Is striker transfer right for Spurs?

Michy Batshuayi has played for Marseille for the past season making his transfer from Standard Leige.

Scoring just 9 goals last season in 23 appearances is not sending shock waves through Europe's Elite. The youngster is supposedly tipped for big things?

What I find confusing is that if we talk about young starlets he has never been one on the list of scouts. When Lukaku made his big move to Cheslea the youngster was world renowned. The youngster has stuttered in his progress, but this was more about the wrong move at the time to Chelsea (although good business for them).

Albeit the striker has stuttered again this season it is more a reflection on his team than himself.

For me there are far better less risky options. Although not a choice of mine Charlie Austin makes more sense (even though a deal to Newcastle is pretty much a formality). Jordan Rhodes is the most sensible British player and still I stand by the Scots consistnet performance.

The true risk is that of spending double figure millions on a player that has never played a premier league game, not set Ligue 1 alight with his goal scoring ability and has spent much of the season under the radar.

I love to be wrong in football as I have been many times, but at the moment I fail to see why and how this youngster has suddenly jumped onto the scene as a top class talent. Prove me wrong Michy.
