Good news is coming out of the camp that the two may be just weeks away from fitness and a return to the squad.
Scott has missed the season so far and we have noticably missed his guts and glory performances the whole season. He is a true leader and never seems to back down. So I for one cannot wait to see him back on the pitch and throwing himself in front of everything!
Dembele has missed the last 4 matches, but we have faltered further without him. Although Bale has began to up his game (scoring in the past 2 games) and Lennon has seemed to be more of a constant threat we still seem to struggle in creating the chances that Defoe needs to score (and lets face it he needs around 10 chances to convert 1 it seems of recent!).
Without a doubt the bad endings to games has been our biggest issue with a complete lapse of concentration always the issue. It seems that when Scott was on the pitch we always knew that he wouldn't let it happen. With Dembele he always had the gift of bringing the ball away and setting up a counter attack.
Either way I am looking forward to both of their returns to bring in a good end to this year and better beginning in the new year.
