Firstly anyone that loves their stats and wants to see the stats for individuals and their team performance etc, this is the site for you.
Anyway back on track.
According to Squawka's stats Vertonghen is the 3rd best player in the team . No other defender in our team even comes close to his stats. To demonstrate this Bale has 1497 points, Dembele has 1427 and Jan has 1310!
To highlight even further Walker is the next closest defender and is almost 600 points under Jan!
Jan is the team's second best passer with 87% and boosts a huge 81% tackle succession rate!
If we bear in mind that for most of his season he has played out of position and it is his first season! Lots of people have gone on about how great Vermaelen was, but Jan has been in my eyes the most successful imported defender on his initial season to date.
If anything under AVB we have to see that Jan is just going to get better and better! What I like most about the guy is for a defender he is skilful, has a great touch and knows when to go forward. Would I want him to stay out on the left? If he is happy to, it would leave Kaboul and Dawson in the middle I know I would be happy!
