Kaboul back and raring to go

Last updated : 09 April 2013 By Hog

Younes was due to make his comeback in February, but there are reports that his injury was still being aggravated.

Finally Kaboul made his first come back last night against West Ham in the U21 game that finished 1-1. He made it through 60 minutes and came through unscathed (so good news).

Here's what Chris Ramsey had to say;

“He did well, had no problems really,” said Chris, our Senior Professional Phase Coach, who revealed that Younes was initially down to only play the first half.

“He wanted to play an extra 15 minutes as well, showed a fantastic attitude and wanted to push his fitness a little more."

So Younes was able to push to 60 minutes without issues. This is a player that is raring to get back to the first team. He was told to do 45 minutes and the fact that he has done 60 minutes says it all.

Slightly confusing was to see some reports that Younes was looking to move off in the summer? A very bizarre one to see and I can confirm that it is a load of rubbish. Younes is settled and is aiming to show AVB that he is an integral part of the first team.

Yet again this raises questions as to whether AVB will try and introduce him again. It is highly unlikely that Younes will be making an appearance on the bench for Basel, but it has been confirmed that he will be available for the Man City game. So again what to do?

Against Basel our defence looked nervy, against Everton we were scared to run to the ball, so would it be that bad to slot Kaboul in? Vertonghen is a dead cert to be used at left back (BAE seems to have slipped off right down the pecking order). So I expect to see Vertonghen at LB, but is it too much to ask to look at Dawson to be used as the left side CB and Kaboul to slip in between Daws and Walker? I am certainly one that is against making rash and snap decisions, but if Kaboul can get some more playing time under his belt then is it a big risk?

Either way it’s a positive to look at. Our forward had looked shaky, our midfield dangerously on the narrow side and our defence had looked inept over the past few games. With several key players coming back it could all be a pointless discussion.

Also a reminder for all those that are happy to do so, please vote on the below link. You can opt out of all the sales stuff, please show your support for a fellow spurs fan that wants our help:
