To fill you in on the players that could have played for the U21's look here:
Phil Jones, Jack Wilshire, Andros Townsend, Ross Barkley and Raheem Sterling! At what point can the FA, Southgate or Roy actually justify that Kane should have been the only player out of all those to have gone with the U21 squad?
I have said many a time that Kane would not benefit from the tournament and I hate being right but it has shown through. Without a rest following a long and hard season it would have been common sense for the youngster to be given the time off, its about time that the clubs have the authority to simply so no! The U21 squad should have been filled with further youngster to prove their worth on the stage. Stopping Kane from progressing fully into the senior squad also is a hinderance to the other youngster trying to push their way through.
Southgate has shown nothing in this tournament to confirm he deserves his position as manager. He has brought in players that are too tired, not pushed young raw talent into the squad and if anything has stopped overall progress of the young international squad.
I hope for Kane's sake that he now gets a rest and put his feet up.
The FA and all involved have been a disgrace over including Kane, forget me if I am wrong but aren't they supposed to protect players.... NOT TRY AND INJURE THEM!
I feel for Kane and it's unfair that he is being forced to run himself into the ground... Southgate... HANG YOUR HEAD IN SHAME!
