However Everton are not ones for spending money (ok Lukaku an exception) and the likelihood is that Tottenham will demand a deal to include Mirallas (with cash going Everton's way).
The deal would suit both parties as Everton are in need of support for Lukaku and Tottenham are in need of a player to take some pressure off of Kane. Some will say that Tottenham will do better from this deal, looking at it from a fringe player that has not performed this season to be swapped with a player that has scored 10 goals this season and a bit of cash.... yes it seems like its weighted in Tottenham’s favour. However Everton are in need of a player like Lennon and this is why their performance has picked up since Lennons arrival.
Remaining impartial I believe that the deal truly suits both parties. Tottenham were hunting for a left midfielder as Chadli is more inconsistent than Lennon and Eriksen (when played there) ends up playing through the middle allowing the opposition to run riot on the left.
You would imagine (as I had highlighted in the past) that Lennon going on loan was part of a bigger deal that would see Mirallas move to Tottenham at the end of the season (but would hinge on Lennon settling well).
I for one am excited to see what happens between the clubs come summer, but now that Martinez has spoken expect every Journo to milk this news for around 10 articles each between now and June!
