Letter to Peter Herbert (secret Racist?)

Last updated : 08 November 2012 By Hog

Now we have some clown that doesn't understand the definition of racism telling us we can't!

The definition of racism is as follows:

Prejudice or discrimination directed against someone of a different race based on such a belief.

So, we are not using the term to discriminate against anyone and in fact the Jewish people at the lane sing this as loud and as proud as any other supporter.

But to now be told by Peter Herbert of the Black Lawyers Society that this term can no longer be used only leads me to ask one thing; Is the man a racist against Jewish people and is he against them or anyone supporting their religion or a Jewish person taking pride in their religion?

The race war in football is becoming ridiculous now. The issues that must be stamped out are the monkey chants and the general issues shown toward the players with different skin colour to the fans.

It seems that Peter Herbert believes that non antisemitic chants are more important to sort than the actual antisemitic chants. Its a typcial lawyer tactic to take, when you are not winning, focus on something else and hope that you can win that way.

I would like to hear from any Jewish Tottenham fan that is offended by these words and why you feel that they are offensive. I will state that I am not Jewish, but that does not mean that I am against the religion and nor does it mean if I use the above terms that I am being racist (I attend the games with a Jewish friend for gods sake!).

The game is evolving into many different things now good and bad, racism is another part of the game that has crept up again (like diving etc). We must deal with these things, but in the right way.

Now Peter Herbert if you read this I would be happy to print your response to this open letter and explanation as to why you feel that these non antisemitic chants are more important than the actual antisemitic chants and why you feel it is important to take the focus off of fans that are in fact causing actual harm!

As always 100% behind the club and I agree on the stance. If offense is taken then I am truly sorry and will happily stop the chants, but if not then there is not a problem.

Looking forward to tonight’s game, my thoughts on that shortly.
