Lloris Replacement

Last updated : 05 May 2015 By Hoggg

What I would like to look at is IF and that is a very big IF, Lloris was to leave who could fill his shoes?

Krul was linked to Spurs a while ago and with Newcastles consistent failure to move forward there could be a huge opportunity to land the Dutch International. To add further fuel to that fire Krul and captain Coloccini had a bust up following the Leicester game.

Begovic rumours are also gathering that he is ready to move from Stoke. Tottenham again have been linked with this stopper before, but the strong links are with Liverpool and Arsenal.

Casillas is ready to move on from Madrid after undergoing a poor season. At the age of 33 he would not be an ideal replacement, however he has the experience and know how to make it with any of the top teams in Europe.

Finally there is Petr Cech. For me he is the less likely of the 4 options. Chelsea and Spurs have an exceptionally bad relationship together and I cannot see Roman and Levy sitting down and agreeing to the transfer of their number 2 keeper.

Realistically I could see Krul coming to Spurs as I could Begovic, but the later 2 I could see going to possibly Italy.

I still at this stage refuse to believe that Hugo is leaving, he has made no effort to highlight his reluctance to leave WHL, MoPo has made it clear Lloris is staying and best of all there are no clauses in his contract.

What I feel is hilarious is the Rumours coming out of France that levy has agreed to a €27million Euro sale! That’s under £20illion. For Levy to make around £10million (after agent fee's etc) we can all safely say that the reports coming out of France are ludicrous! Levy will be pushing for a world record fee for his prized asset.

When push comes to shove though Levy will have to accept that Lloris will not continue to watch him refuse to support the club or Manager and at the pivotal times (when investment could help secure a Champions League spot).

If Levy truly wishes to keep Lloris then major investment is needed to show ambition. A new stadium shows that you are thinking of future income, but it does not show that the club wish to progress in the league.

As always there will be some of you that state you can't just sign big players think of Fair Play rules etc, but being ambitious could be signing Khadira on a free. Spurs would not be able to pull that coup off, however that would be a huge sign that Spurs see their problem areas and will do whatever it takes to improve!

Reality is that Spurs will be lucky to sign Konoplyanka (who would improve the squad).

Let's hope that if Levy is selling Lloris it's to someone outside of the EPL and that they have a great plan to replace him with.
