Midfielder set to leave

Last updated : 31 January 2015 By Hoggg

Although it is no surprise for Lennon to leave (given that he is not getting any game time) this is just further news to frustrate the fans.

So far we have sold Naughton, loaned out Veljkovic and there are rumours flying thick and fast that Adebayor is to go out on loan.

Ok great news that we are clearing out the fringe players and giving our youngsters much needed game time.

My concern (as always) is WHERE ARE THE TRANSFERS IN?

MoPo states he is happy with the squad and does not want to weaken it, however it is likely that 4 players will leave! So when are we going to do some busines and buy some players? It makes no sense, although its just history repaeating itself. Selling Defoe was a bad move and we have not added the much needed fire power since then.

There is no excuse for it as looking back over the years the club do not see themselves sitting in the red. Yes this is the reason that we are in a good financial position, but at a great cost to progression. Yes we have funded other projects, but this is simply to get the club into a better selling position.

Levy and Baldini are paid a lot of money to progress the club, Levy overall and Baldini on the pitch. But on most accounts they are both failures overall. Baldini has made 1 great addition in Eriksen, Lamela is finding his feet, but the rest of the buys..... you have to question his ability now. Levy has failed to help the club progress on the pitch with rash and narrow minded decisions. Quick to sack managers, investing at the wrong times (or refusing to invest when is abundantly clear), failure to sack the likes of Baldini. Yes there are positives, but to look at the club now and see where it is heading (on the pitch) fans should be VERY concerned.

What is the point of go facilities if we cannot get into the competitions to attract the players to use them? What is the use of great coaches if they don't have the players they need to make the team work? Great players do not need state of the art facilities (don't believe look at Pele, Maradona, Van Basten, Best, the list is endless. Yet we waste the clubs money on them instead of investing in the squad when is needed.

Some fans argue that Levy is an amazing chairman, the reality is he was. He has alienated the club to the extent that clubs are reluctant to deal with (brilliant for when you want to keep a player), but this has hindered our buying.

The simple facts are that we are doing too much selling and not enough investing. Get rid of the 4 players above.... great, but who's replacing them? At this stage you have to be concerned surely, if not why not? Someone please break it down as to how weakening the squad and bringing in no one helps us.

To give you absolute living proof of Levy's stupidity I will take you back to the 2011-2012 season. In January we were close to signing one Eden Hazard. Levy decided to wait until the end of the season. If he had signed him (looking at how Eden performed instantly) he would have helped with an additional 2 points minimum. If we had to 2 more points in that season we would have finished above Arsenal (which is huge), but also we would have finished 3rd in the EPL and qualified for the champions league. Ask yourself why he did this? Its obvious he thought he could broker a better deal in the summer. What a monumetal balls up as we lost our champions league spot and Eden Hazard moved onto Chelsea!

Now ask yourself is that a sensible man? Anyone to argue yes is a complete moron (let's face it).

Once again we are left looking at what could have been if Levy had of signed some quality on loan (so it costs little).
