Neymar deal sparks Villa talk

As far as I can tell in regards to David Villa's impending move to Spurs, is that it all came about when it was known that Neymar was coming to Barcelona.

It just so happens that as Spurs have been linked to Villa that AVB was asked about the forward, however the he did not confirm nor decline anything, by just stating how good a player Villa is (in my case more was).

There are talks of a £12million deal for a striker that is almost 32 and has just (or maybe still is) overcome a very serious injury. Villa had not been as prolific as in previous years (despite his 27 La Liga appearances). Villa has not seen such a poor return on goals since his time at Sporting Gijon B, so you have to wonder whether Barcelona see this and realise that it is time to allow their once star man leave. The hitman had seen his shots hitting the back of the net more than 20 times until last season and this season. Before that for 10 consecutive years he had been achieving 20+ goals.

So in my eyes a striker the wrong side of 30, scoring the least amount of goals since his youth years in Gijon's B team is the absolute wrong player to buy and certainly not at £12million. I had originally said £5million, but looking through things more I do not believe it would be beneficial to the club or the squad. If we were talking about a defender or keeper I would have a very different approach, but for a striker I think he is better suited to the likes of Fulham than us.

I think the player has had a career to boast over, but 1-2 years ago is when the striker should have been bought. I wish him the best, but I truly hope not to see us waste our money on him (we are in need of the funds elsewhere).

Looking back at the facts can anyone honestly see AVB buying him?
