Parker confirms slump fears

Scott Parker and the rest of the team have given us all cause for concern by admitting that the team fear another slump in the second half of the season.

It doesn't fill you with confidence to hear a player come out with a comment like this.

I have reported for a long time now that when January approaches the team needs some sort of a lift for their morale. A big name signing is just that, but it will also mean our team gets better!

Looking back at the past 2 seasons Levy has decided against investing in the team in January, despite history repeating itself we could see Levy & co make the same mistake again!

We are linked to numerous players, but who will we actually land? The most notable transfer that was due to happen was that of Hazard last season. We looked odds on to sign him and then we dragged our heels and lost him to Chelsea. We now have another chance to rectify this by signing Sneijder or Willian (the first is unwanted by his club and the latter's club has signed a replacement for him already).

The players have now made it clear what they want and if the team's and fans voices are ignored then we are looking at Groundhog day! To make the same mistake year in year out seems damn right stupid and I cannot wait to see Levy put this right. We moan about our players, we moan about our managers, but the chairman gets off quite a lot (with fans mistakenly placing the blame with the manager). Levy has spent well for us, but the club has only paid out £3.6million after players in and out, so you can't tell me that the money isn't there!

We must trust all involved in the club, but it would be nice for once not to see the trust abused. Come on Levy I know that you like a good deal (who doesn't), but it’s not only the fans that are concerned of a slump it’s the players. So give us all a lift and sign someone already!
