However, I feel that this will not happen. Levy as we know is a very shrewd businessman and Levy would rather use the money to bring in the much needed creative midfielder. We very quickly forget that Scott Parker is now fit and had looked his normal powerful self when coming on for Tottenham ,so we already have a replacement. Furthermore we also have a similar player in Tom Huddlestone who can play between midfield and defence and finally we are also forgetting that Vertonghen can play there.
If you want to look at things sensibly why would Levy pay a few million pounds for someone that he already has for free?
I cannot see this happening unless a very nominal fee of £1million is agreed and I am sure Levy would not be stupid enough to pay more than that instead of signing the needed creative midfielder.
Once again this only really highlights that injuries are easy to come by (and serious ones at that), so we cannot risk of leaving Defoe as our only out and out striker.
