Soldado is not our scapegoat!

My argument is that both squad and manager look out of depth at times. In Russia the team struggled and no matter what is said the team was more than capable of destroying Dnipro, however they struggled spectacularly.

All fans wrote off the game under the false pretence that we had rested the squad. Interesting that as 7 of the usual starting 11 played!

Looking at the squad though, I still cannot understand Dembele on the right and Lennon on the left. When did Mousa become a winger? With Chadli and Townsend on the bench what was the thought of our starting 11?

We lack any leader on the pitch and worse we lack direction. You can say that we have looked fine before that, however the same fundamental issues have been there for a long time (it showed more under AVB).

Ade had a bad day and the rest of the team did not have a player pulling them out of another poor performance. In what world can we sit there and continue to blame just one player.

I hear all the “If Soldado had of scored”, yes if he did we would have got 1 point, but that was not good enough!

For me every single one of the playing and coaching staff should be holding their hands up right now. We have a squad filled with 2 different starting line ups that should be able to give most teams a run around, but our real starting 11 should be winning a lot more games.

We cannot deny that there is an underlying issue within the team. We are unlucky with some injuries to the squad and yes some players are underperforming, but it is the same old excuse that it is one player.

On yesterday and Thursday’s performance please show me ONE player that had a clue as to what they were doing on the pitch?

Things were so bad yesterday that we were gifting Norwich time after time through sheer panic, I thought that was the worst of it, but things got so bad that players managed to mis-time their jumping on several occasions!

It’s time seriously look at the real issues. No general to lead the time and install confidence and grit. There is no player that is entrusted with the play making (that the team agree with or trust), our players do not know when to pass the ball, when to run with it and when to hold up the play.

You cannot play Soldado as a lone striker and you cannot continue to field players out of position. True fans of football in general have seen from the start that money was spent unwisely, but more in the case that in January it was another BIG fail. It is four seasons running that Levy & Co have failed to add the needed players to the squad and Sherwood did not put his job on the line and refuse any new players! He was told to say it by the powers that be.

Another striker was needed and a consistent left back (to provide Rose with competition). Both players could have been on loan so large investments were not needed.
