Soldado is showing his worth

He will be one of the greatest strikers to put on a Spurs shirt, that I am sure of.

I do not remember the last time that we had a striker that had scored 3 penalties in a row. The composure that this takes is unbelievable. How many times have we needed someone that could score form the spot, too many times from my memories.

When he is given the right ball in the right area the striker has either converted or set a team mate up. The problem has actually been that he is rarely given the right ball and even more rarely in the right area.

Players do need time to fit in. However Soldado has lead our line well. He is exceptionally hard working and is constantly coming deep often to help out our failing midfield.

So is it any wonder that he is not in the right place at the right time? Even though he comes deep regularly to help the build up he is still causing havoc in the opposition’s box.

His link up with Paulinho and Holtby for his first goal in open play showed just how good he is. Then 3 goals from the spot have still given us 9 points! He has himself given us 12 points, which is more than 95% of our players can better or match. 3 penalties in 3 matches ending 1-0 and against Villa he scored and set up Townsend. So that only leaves 7 points that have been won by the team, not bad a striker that our fans question.

The top scorers in the league have netted 8, 7, 6, 5 and 4 goals, so this puts Soldado joint 5th of the top scorers. Again how is this bad? Whether you score from the spot, freekick or open play they all take skill to convert.

The stats speak for themselves and I refuse to state that Soldado cannot be our lone striker, as to argue against it would be absolute stupidity. So for all those moaning at the player, take a look at the stats and then be honest with yourself.

Keep it up Roberto you have scored almost half our goals setup almost a  quarter and won us 12 points!
