We have seen articles about Lloris, Lennon, Soldado, Chriches, Kaboul, Townsend (the list is never ending) that all are leaving the club. But again no reports of signings.
I am not one for calling for money to be spent when its not needed, but seriously we can all see that Spurs are not a settled side with an abundance of strength any more.
In excess of £100million was spent 18 months ago, but poorly spent. Now Tottenham are in a position where they need to re-invest and again when there is potential of pushing on for a top 4 position.
Although we do not expect to see Levy open his wallet to support his manager. Mopo was brought in I thought to change the side, but in order for this to happen the manager must be given funds to shape the team. We have all seen that many of the players cannot be bothered to pull their weight.
There are still players that are not used or used in the right position, Soldado is a key example. We may moan and say that he is useless, but at what stage has he ever been given a run of 10 games in a formation/ style to play to unlock his full potential? He hasn't. Lamela has certainly changed under Mopo's stewardship, but I am yet to see a change to other players.
We do not need to spend big and there are certainly option available at a cheap price, if you don't believe me I have three players that were available on a free in the summer;
Ings - An English striker with a good reputation behind him (given a better team it is believed he would flourish).
James Milner - Although some would say he would slow down the play he is tough and hard to defend against and scores regularly (but we all know who he is).
Winston Reid - The West Ham man has received rave reviews and has attracted attention of some of the top 4 teams.
We could agree a contract with all three players (behind closed doors) and then agree a nominal fee with their clubs. Those 3 players would certainly help the team and at a minor cost.
Ok only Milner maybe someone to add instant quality to the team, but Ings and Reid would be great replacements for Kaboul and Ade.
As always my thoughts are in the best interest as a fan, but what are your thoughts? Who do you believe would be a good addition to the club, but at a steal?
