All in all I don't think there was much right in the game, other than Sunderland keeping a clean sheet. From reading my articles you will see that I will pat the lads on the back for doing well and give them a metaphorical kick up the backside when they lose or draw games they should be winning.
At such a late stage in the season drawing a blank at Sunderland shows that there is not enough hunger and experience to demonstrate that we deserve 3rd place. Yes Sunderland may have drawn against City last week, but it is not expected.
I question Redknapp's tactics again in not starting Lennon and at the moment (surprised to say it) how Sandro even managed a slot in the team forget starting. A lot of Sunderland's good chances came from Sandro's poor passing. At 60 minutes the changes should have been made with Lennon on for VDV and Defoe on for Sandro.
The lack of response from today's game shows that the players are obviously happy throwing points away and allowing Arsenal the chance to win the 3rd spot easily.
Another response is needed in the remaining games (but BIG), if there's no blood, sweat and tears in everyone's performance pull them off and fine them!
