Last night not only did we see Lennon and Gallas come off injured, but our only other "striker" (other than Ade). As it stands our rapidly diminished squad has 1 striker. The rest are injured and still fans say that they are happy that Levy & co did not buy a striker in the January window. I hate to point out I told you so, but it's needed.
I am not a pessimist but we are now 1 injury away from major disaster and having to rely soley upon youngster (who will be rushed into the first team) to pull us out of the pit!
If we are to believe reports Bale is expected to come back at the same time as JD. However I believe Kaboul was due back in February and we are now in April! So let's not rush things and get hopes up.
I am glad that Bale's injury is not as bad as was expected, but it was a childish display from Gareth who unnecessarily threw himself into a challenge in a position of no danger.
The Tottenham "implode" that we had been labelled with is now out of the picture as its injury that was put a big question mark over our finish in the league and Europa League.
Depending on whether Lennon's substitute was a precaution rather than an actual injury we may have enough in the tank to patch over the growing cracks.
I am happy that the players in the team are more than capable of grinding a result out against Everton (they have a list of injuries themselves) and Basel, but I am apprehensive over the games against Chelsea and City (which we will need Gareth and Lennon back for).
To end on a positive note a great time for the youngster pushing for a first team spot Ceballos and Coulthirst I think! Let's give them a chance and take the pressure off of the confidence lacking Ade (who scored again.... thank you).
