Striker force decision haunts us!

It’s all good having Bale to bang in the goals, but when you have two out and out strikers that are running on empty (ok Ade scored against Inter, but he still looks off), then not scoring was going to happen at some point. We say we are not a one man team and we are not, but the lads are not making it easy on us for speak against that!

Many fans said I was crazy to moan that Levy has not bought a striker in January, but the past 2 losses show a direct reason as to why I was in fact right!

Yesterday we did not even manage a goal against Fulham and worst of all at home! I think it is unfair to place so much blame on  Defoe and Ade as the squad up front is simply not good enough.

Although I still believe that Damiao would taken a while to properly settle (he could have done a job), but it was never going to happen and it was all rumours. We had Lopez from Lyon available on loan, but we never followed it up or made an effort. So before people start shouting and screaming about the cost........ he was FREE!!!!!!

As we full well know players become available at good prices as long as you have a good relationship with the players club or if the negotiator is a true back street car salesman (haha).

Although the squad made it past February and SOME of March it’s showing again that we lack quality in our depth. I truly believe our team is weaker than last season and smaller (in quality), but still we have managed to hold out this long, inevitably though the players will tire and you could suggest that this is now the case (I think that the hunger, drive and confidence is what is missing right now).

Defoe had a great start to the season and was pushed too far on his injury, so I can understand his form now (as it’s likely he is not fit, which is why he didn't start against Fulham). So essentially we have Ade that has lost the fans and his head is down as the man to hang our hopes on.

It has shown a complete lack of ambition and tactics to not have improved this area in January and this decision has as always come back to haunt us. Levy should have broken that habit of not spending when it’s needed in January (there are always bargain to have as with Holtby, there was for strikers!).

Hopefully what you will see is that I am trying to take the pressure and bad vibes away from the players and direct them to someone that should expect them and also that will not affect us on the pitch!

Another mention on our competition in conjunction with ICONS.com. With Bale playing so well this prize is not only something to hang on your wall but it’s also an investment. We have had hundreds of entrances and the competition will be running until 29th March so make sure that if you haven't entered that you do below;
