So far we have missed out on Damiao (in Jan, but talks broke down completely), Villa and Gomez. It is likely that Bony is on his way to Swansea and Jese of Tap'em Up Madrid is going to be offered a new contract (although we could not have signed him for anything other than a future prospect).
So that still leaves us with Benteke and Soldado....
After Benteke handed in his transfer request rumours were flying. The betting on Benteke to Tottenham has us as favourites to land the forward, then Twitter was rife with comments that Benteke favours a move to Tottenham (that has come from some of the players at Villa). However Chelsea are not seemingly willing to give up that easily. After missing out on Cavani and not willing to pay the asking price for Hulk they are set to offer Lukaku in part of any deal that is offered (however I do not expect him to want to go to Villa, much like Defeo).
So what it will come down to is what Villa are willing to accept. The Guardian this morning have said that Villa have made it clear any offers below £25 million will be rejected, however we all know the score on this one.
I expect this target to be a prolonged transfer as the Damiao one was. My only hope is that it does not take as long!
