Surprise striker bid?

Last updated : 21 July 2015 By Hoggg

New reports from sources such as the Daily Mail have suggested that Tottenham are in fact bidding or set to bid for Pierre Emerick Aubameyang!

This seems bizarre as the forward is under much demand from clubs within the Champions league for next season. Most notably our arch rivals!

A bid of £28.7m has been tabled already and Dortmund are very reluctant to do the business at this price.

Looking at Levy’s history I do not believe that this is a viable story at all. 2 players have been purchased over £20m and neither have lived up to their price tag. This leads me to question as to where the Mail have got their information from? Tottenham will not be breaking their transfer record to beat the opposition to this strikers signature. When the striker was at St Etienne Spurs were linked to the Gabon International and £11m at the time was the fee that could have landed the frontman.

In all honesty Spurs have missed the boat on this forward and his price tag surpasses what Tottenham are willing to pay.

Despite scoring 26 goals this season and 16 in his debut season in Germany, I believe this is one forward looking for a bigger move and more than that Levy would be willing to part with.
