The final countdown!

Following what many call a lucky result against Southampton we now face a Chelsea side that have been up and down more times than a bucking bronco this season (performance wise). Although Chelsea currently occupy the 3rd spot many (not just Spurs Fans) have said that they do not deserve to be there. For me it is by the by as they are in 3rd so the rest does not matter.

I couldn't care a less about what certain players say about our team. They are not involved with us and they are looking for attention. Personally only respond to things that warrant a response.

So back to today. Chelsea it seems will have Hazard back in the squad but we will also have Dembele and Lennon back. So as much as we can see both teams are at full strength (or pretty much bar Kaboul and Sandro for us).

It will be a hard battle and the loser of it will almost certainly struggle to see out the season being dealt such a blow. For me Chelsea have the harder finish so a loss for them will be harder to get over, a loss for Spurs and there is a chance, but a slim one at that.

The preparation of this game should have been high, keep the players on their toes and make sure that they are ready to take on a Chelsea team that we have failed to beat at Stamford Bridge for coming up to 30 years (in the league)!

After this game we go to Stoke (potentially a hard game, but I expect all 3 points) and then Sunderland at home (at which point I believe Sunderland will have secured their league position by then) so without anything to play for I would expect a straight forward win.

The best result most may say is a draw as many fans expect to see Chelsea slip up against Everton and maybe Villa, but for me it has to be a win.

At the weekend (I have to be honest and stat) that we, Arsenal and Chelsea can all think ourselves lucky for the results on Saturday any of the teams could have easily slipped up and dropped at least 2 points.

How I see the final scores coming is set below;

Chelsea 1-2 Tottenham

Villa 1-1 Chelsea

Stoke 1-2 Tottenham

Arsenal 1-1 Wigan

Chelsea 0-1 Everton

Newcastle 2-2 Arsenal

Tottenham 2-0 Sunderland

So adding those points up I see the table finishing;

3rd Tottenham 74 points

4th Chelsea 69 points

5th Arsenal 69 Points

In terms quality and who "deserves" to be in the top4 I actually feel that we deserve to be in there as much as Chelsea and Arsenal. If people want to talk about quality Chelsea have underperformed, Arsenal have performed well and we have performed the best out of all 3. The reason I feel this is that we have lost 2 major names from our squad and have not replaced them, plus a complete new restructure of the staff and tactics. Not one person can deny that AVB and the squad have worked wonders to get the results and league position.

So that’s my opinion of it all. That is how I see it finishing and yes it may be seen as optimistic, but do you know what, I can honestly say that I believe in the results and so should the rest of you!

We have a capable squad, we have the drive and have put our past fears to rest. Yes we dropped points but so have every other team in the league this year.
