The stupidity of Players

It follows the complete lack of accountability that is shown by Luiz Suarez for his actions on the pitch in front of millions of fans across the world.

But it does raise an interesting point about the stupidity of some players.

Luckily us Spurs fans only have to moan about our players not being happy with the abuse they get for poor performances. Forget race rows and GBH!

I cannot understand how in this day and age players feel they have the right to feel hard done by when the media publish articles showing the public what these players have done wrong and that there is little remorse shown by the player(s).

To make matters worse a player then attempts to use the media as a reason for leaving their club that they supposedly love?

Anyone that can show me how any player let alone Suarez is right to do this I will eat my shorts!

Townsend has made it clear and held his hands up for making bets and that it was wrong to do so, even better that he will take the actions, fines, bans and publicity that comes with it all.

I have a hatred for any player that will not take responsibility for their actions and then has the nerve to push through a move stating it is because of the media.

Rooney, Terry and Giggs (recently) have all had run in's with the media, but they have not said that they have to move because of this.

It’s simple in my eyes, if you are in the public's gaze do not act like a headless chicken, do not act like a dog on heat and if you do, expect to be caught out, but more importantly deal with it like an adult!

Gone are the days when we had to deal with players drinking and scuffling, now more alarming things have come up like race row's and GBH (ok I forget Roy Keane in that haha).

In this age it is something that I would have hoped would not come up, something that would not exist, but it seems that there is a complete lack of respect between players and their club/ fans today.

Happily I admit that Lennon, Livermore, Huddlestone and Walker showed a complete lack of respect coming up to the final game, but they made amends to this by helping the team win the final game.

Not all players do, but some moan that it is so difficult and the fans do not understand how hard life is for them, but I work hard for my money and feel that I should get more for the hours I work. How about working 14 hours a day and not even getting half of what a fringe players gets a week in a month! Doctors and Surgeons can earn between £100-£200k a year and they work harder than footballers, but they are not moaning about their wage and if they did I would support them (they save lives).

Is it too much to ask for players to respect the club and the fans that they play for and stick to their contracts? I think not but what about you? My thoughts are if you don’t like it find another way to earn that sort of money!

I will stick up for players when they deserve it, but the likes of Suarez are poisoning the beautiful game with their childish behaviour.

COYS!!!!!
