So far we have sold "fringe" player Huddlestone, loaned out Livermore, Dempsey and Caulker (which still baffles me).
These sales are expected to bring in around £23million, but also help free up the wage bill to enable us to bring further names in.
The three midfielders (Huddlestone, Parker and Livermore) are all names that I had predicted to leave (not that it was hard to guess), however I still feel that a permanent move for Livermore would have been best (there are too many players with better talent ahead of him).
Who will be next though? There are talks that Defoe is set to leave, but I really cannot see that (forgetting that AVB has stated it himself). Why would JD leave Tottenham as the no.2 striker for QPR in the Championship?
I still expect to see BAE leave before the window closes, but not due to the Fabio rumour (I don't believe it anyway, it came from the Daily Star!). Then bring in Luke Shaw (although he states he likes Chelsea, we can still try).
Ade I expect to leave however it is still uncertain as to where?
Potential loan moves I expect to see are Stewart, Fredericks, Ceballos, Falque, Kane, Obika, Coulibaly, Coulthirst , Lancaster and Dawkins . However the first three and the second, third and fourth to last may be kept within the youth team.
I do not expect to see Townsend or Carroll go out on loan, just as you would not expect to see Rose, Fryers or Naughton leave on loan.
One name that I feel we may see a resurgence from is Gomes. With Brad ageing (albeit well) and there is no real competition for Lloris, we could see Gomes come back into the frame rather than leave the club.
Other than the above mentioned names we have managed to trim the squad well (just a few more to go).
The question is really should we keep BAE, Gomes and Adebayor? Ade has to go in my opinion (he will not work as 3rd choice striker), BAE should go (with Rose being a better version) and Gomes as mentioned above I feel he could be a good reserve keeper.
What are your thoughts? Have we sold the right players? Are there other players you would like to see go? Some fans don't rate Lennon or Sigurdsson, so would you like them to be sold on and fresh faces bought in? Could Ince replace once of them?
