Cheick Tiote is being linked with Spurs after failing down the pecking order at St James Park.
If this link was at his peak this rumour would excite me but it now raises eyebrows as the battling midfielder struggles to get into Steve Maclaren's match day squad.
I am sure this will be dismissed soon or solid information may come out. Either way not really exciting me at the moment, stinks of slipping back to the old days of signing older players in hope of a season or two resurgence.
